Hillhouse Quarry Group Ltd is a family-owned business operating throughout Scotland. The company is a major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, concrete products and operates road surfacing and civil engineering divisions.

Due to the continued growth of the company, Hillhouse has an opportunity for an experienced Technical Supervisor to oversee our technical operations covering the East of Scotland including our sites in Glenrothes, Fife and Midlothian, with a base location at our Crossgates site.

As Technical Supervisor you will manage the Technicians in their daily duties, ensuring the quality and compliance of all products to the relevant standards, through accurate and consistent sampling, testing and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate and undertake daily sampling and testing of asphalt, ready-mix concrete, concrete products and aggregates.

• Ensure that all testing procedures are in accordance with the relevant standards.

• Calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing.

• Review of test results and have the ability to implement any process changes to ensure full material specification compliance.

• Liaise and support the production and sales departments to resolve any technical issues.

• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years construction materials laboratory experience.

• Proficient IT skills.

• Strong leadership and organisational skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with customers and various levels of in-house management.

• Current driving license.
