Hillhouse Quarry Group Ltd is a family-owned business operating throughout Scotland.  The company is a major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, concrete products and operates road surfacing and civil engineering divisions.

We are seeking an experienced Quarry Manager 8.1(c) to join the growing team at our Lomond Quarry in Fife which produces high-quality hard rock aggregates and sand.

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the Health, Safety & Environmental performance of the site as well as managing the team to ensure production & quality are maintained to meet current ISO standards.  

Responsibilities:

Promote Health & Safety Culture: Actively drive and maintain the site’s Health & Safety culture.
Customer Focus: Maintain a strong focus on the needs of the customers.
Operational Planning & Organization: Effectively plan and organize multiple operations within the site.
Team Leadership: Utilize leadership skills to promote a positive team working environment.
Maintenance: Apply a good mechanical understanding for maintenance activities.

 

Skills & Experience:

Core Skills:

Self-motivated.
Good communication skills.
Good management skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Computer literate, specifically using Microsoft systems (Teams/Excel etc.).

 

Preferred Experience & Knowledge:

Previous experience within the Quarry/Mining/Recycling/Construction sectors.
Sound knowledge of drill & blast operations.
Sound knowledge of crushing and screening applications.
Safety, Health & Environmental Management NVQ Level 4 or above.

 

Required:

Driving licence.
