Operations Manager (Concrete) - East

Jamie Munro is Operations Manager for Concrete at Hillhouse Group, responsible for overseeing production, performance and operational efficiency across the Group’s East of Scotland concrete operations.

Jamie has worked in the concrete industry since the age of 18, building his experience across leading businesses including Hanson, Aggregate Industries, Skene Group and now Hillhouse Group. His career reflects a hands-on, ground-up progression through the industry, giving him a well-rounded understanding of both operational delivery and team leadership.

Over the years, Jamie has held a wide range of roles including Technician, Plant Operator, Plant Supervisor, Production Supervisor and now Operations Manager. This breadth of experience provides him with a practical, detailed understanding of concrete production, plant operations and the day-to-day challenges of delivering consistent quality at scale.

Jamie has been involved in the supply of concrete to a number of major infrastructure projects across Scotland, including the Clackmannanshire Bridge at Kincardine, the first phase of the Edinburgh Tram Network and the Scottish Borders Railway. These projects have contributed to his strong understanding of large-scale project requirements and the importance of reliability, coordination and quality control.

 

At Hillhouse, Jamie leads the concrete operations with a focus on safety, efficiency and continuous improvement. He works closely with technical, commercial and logistics teams to ensure consistent performance and dependable supply for customers across a wide range of projects.

Jamie places strong value on the people within the business and takes pride in developing teams and progressing through the industry himself.
