Mark Anderson is Commercial Manager – East at Hillhouse Group, with responsibility for commercial performance, cost control and contract delivery across the eastern division.
Mark brings over 20 years’ experience across construction, civil infrastructure and manufacturing, with a strong track record in both operational and commercial leadership. His progression into the commercial function follows his role as General Manager within the concrete division, where he held full profit and loss responsibility and delivered consistent operational performance.
This combined operational and commercial experience provides Mark with a well-rounded perspective, supporting effective decision-making across budgeting, contract management and resource planning. He has extensive experience managing large-scale projects and leading teams of up to 80 personnel, ensuring that commercial targets and programme deadlines are consistently achieved.
Throughout his career, Mark has played a key role in delivering major projects including Denny High School, Montrose Sports Centre and David Walker Care Home. His involvement in these schemes highlights his ability to manage complex programmes while maintaining strong commercial discipline and operational oversight.
Mark has a solid technical foundation in civil engineering and groundworks, which underpins his approach to commercial management. He has demonstrated consistent success in driving value through supplier negotiations, performance monitoring and resource optimisation, alongside implementing process improvements and sustainability initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
He is committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety and regulatory compliance, holding NEBOSH and GE700 certifications alongside industry-recognised qualifications in construction management. Mark also holds a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Psychology.
