Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and competent Transport Supervisor to work at our Paisley Depot. Reporting to the Transport Manager in overseeing our transport operation. The role involves supervising a fleet comprising of HGV’s. LGV’s and Company vans/cars. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our fleet compliant, efficient and safe, while supporting the ongoing development of both people and processes within the depots.
Responsibilities

  • Monitor fleet activity, ensuring ETAs are met, departments are updated and drivers’ hours/breaks are compliant
  • Monitoring standards of driving through telematics and addressing training needs where required
  • Support Customer Services in handling internal and external queries quickly and professionally
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure strong communication across teams
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are followed and any issues are promptly addressed
  • Cover driver holidays/absence where required.
  • Work with the Transport Manager to recruit and induct new drivers.
  • Ensure all accidents are reported and forms filled in on time.

Requirements

  • Experience supervising drivers in a transport or logistics environment
  • Good working knowledge of UK & EU drivers’ hours, WTD and O-Licence compliance (training can be provided)
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Confident communicator, able to brief/de-brief drivers and liaise with other teams
  • Familiarity with telematics, transport systems and vehicle compliance processes
  • A proactive problem solver with a focus on safety, service and efficiency
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A valid driving licence essential (minimal Class 2 required).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
