Hillhouse Group is a family-owned business operating throughout Scotland. The company is a major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, readymix concrete, concrete products, road surfacing and civil engineering services to the construction industry and civil engineering sectors.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated, professional, competent and commercially aware Salesperson to sell a full range of quarry products including aggregates, asphalt, concrete and concrete products. You will be involved in creating new business, nurturing and maintaining existing accounts, encouraging repeat business, contacting clients/customers and arranging appointments as necessary.

 

This role will mainly cover the Glasgow and Ayrshire areas. The Company Head Office is based in Troon, Ayrshire and the successful candidate will be expected to be able to easily travel to this site when required, as this will be their base location.

Applicants should ideally have industry experience, however this is not essential as training will be given to the right applicant.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selling to contractors, housebuilders, merchants, trade and construction companies.
  • Pricing and following up tenders and new enquiries.
  • Dealing with all enquiries via email and telephone.
  • Providing excellent customer service, upselling and cross selling where possible.
  • Ensuring accurate customer information is maintained on the internal system.
  • Obtaining a strong product knowledge.

 

Person Profile

  • Preferably have sales experience within the construction industry (we are open to candidates who work within a builder’s merchant).
  • Concrete product knowledge preferred but not essential.
  • Administration and scheduling experience beneficial.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Confident telephone manner and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised, personable with good relationship building skills.
  • Should be driven and able to work autonomously and possess a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Full clean UK driving license.
